Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) is an evidenced-based treatment program developed by Dr. Marsha Linehan. Initially, it was created for treating chronically suicidal and self-injurious individuals.
With research over the past few decades, it has also been proven to be effective for individuals with mild to moderate problems coping with life. Some of these issues may include: difficulty regulating emotions, relationship issues, communication problems, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, worry, and confusion about oneself, and substance abuse.
Our skills classes focus primarily on emotional regulation and distress tolerance skills that help in building relationships with others and achieving personal life goals.
Our program consists of four components: skill training classes, individual therapy/family therapy, phone coaching and the therapists participate in team consultation.
*Participating in skills class alone is not DBT and is not counseling. If you are experiencing suicidal thoughts or self-injurious behaviors participation in a program with all 4 components of DBT is recommended.
**The consultation team is designed for the therapist to be accountable for effectively implementing treatment with individuals, and family members.
We are excited to roll out a teen Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (RO-DBT) program beginning January 2020.
RO-DBT is a treatment program that builds upon the work of DBT. It may be recommended for individuals who have trouble being flexible, showing emotion, feeling connected to others and letting go of control. These characteristics might be linked to social isolation, hyper-perfectionism, chronic-depression, anorexia-nervosa, OCPD, rigidity and risk-aversion.
Our program offers a skills training class coupled with individual and/or family work. Participants can benefit from RO approaches that prioritize the value of seeking more pleasure, relaxing control, joining with others and learning other helpful skills to help them achieve long-term goals.

ADVANCED SUPPORT GROUP
for those that have either gone through our program or have been evaluated for readiness when transitioning from a residential, inpatient or outpatient DBT program.
A free 12 week curriculum based class for family members with a loved one that has a difficult time regulating their emotions.
